How to prepare for your apprenticeship interview

It's always good to prepare for an interview by thinking about the questions that you may be asked.

  1. Plan the answers to some common questions that will help you out should you get asked a similar question during the interview
  2. Your CV needs to 'sell you'. Tailor your CV to the types of skills, abilities, and experience that the role is looking for. Try to show why you would be a great addition to the team.
  3. Read through your CV before you submit and check for any spelling and grammar errors - it may be worth asking someone else to check it through with you.

Tackling the interview

The interview stage can be an anxious time but it's a great opportunity to find out more about the company and work out if the role is a right for you.

If you're applying for an apprenticeship, it may be your first job interview. Remember - we're not looking for the finished article, we're looking for someone who is genuinely interested and excited by the prospect of working in the vehicle repair industry.

Body language is super important and first impressions count. Dress smart and try to appear confident. Make eye contact with the interviewer when you are talking, and sit up straight and neat.

Lastly and most importantly, be yourself! It's important to get across your personality during your interview as we're looking not only for a great candidate, but also the right fit for the team.
