First multi-skill apprentices complete their course

The first Vella Multi-Skill apprentices have successfully passed their End Point Assessments and are now qualified Accident Repair Technicians.

The multi-skilled vehicle repair apprenticeship, officially titled Accident Repair Technician Level 3, allows young people to learn and train in each aspect of vehicle repair - including MET, Paint, and Panel. This wider scope of learning gives apprentices the opportunity to experience each department of an accident repair bodyshop before specialising in their favourite subject.

Catherine Short, who is based at the Workington site, and Josh Topping, from Preston, both passed their assessments in December 2021 and have now ended the 'Development' stage of their career.

The Group's apprentice success comes with help from AutoRaise, our charity partners who support us in the running of the programmes, and training partners, Blackpool and The Fylde College, where our apprentices attend their class-room based learning.

The Vella Group employ new apprentices across their sites every September and it is a key part of their mission to continually develop new talent to address the skills shortage in the industry.
